HISTORY

The Forest District Świebodzin was established in 1945, as the result of the nationalization of so far private forests, and at the beginning it covered the area of 7 100 ha.

In 1976, after reorganisation of the State Forests, the former Forest Districts Łagów, Ołobok, Szczaniec and Sub – District Dąbrówka of the Forest District Trzciel were joined to the Forest District Świebodzin. During successive reorganisations in 1985 and in 1997, the area covering 13 100 ha was incorporated into newly created Forest Districts such as Babimost and Bytnica.

Within the areas adjoining the water reservoirs, there are located eleven holiday resorts.

 

In Łagów, there is the Vacation Centre "Leśnik". The object is located in the very centre of the village, at the edge of the Łagowskie Lake, in beautiful surroundings of the Łagów Landscape Park. There are available 110 sleeping places of the high hotel standard: rooms for 2 – 3 - 4  people, apartments, conference and training room,  consumption and banquet room, playground for children, sports fields, beach, rental establishment with water sports equipment, parking lot and garages. Within the area of the Vacation Centre one can have a barbeque; the local speciality is roasted wild boar.

 
 

During the summer time, there also come a lot of youths (scouts), who use, in the area o the Forest District, specially prepared three Scouts camps located by Niesłysz Lake in Niesulice and in Krzeczków – Tyczyno.

For people, who don't like such package tours or holidays, the Forest District Świebodzin makes four forest camp sites available to the tourist annually, namely:

- "Słoneczne",
- "Pod Bukami",
- "Pom",
- "Plaża Borów" (Beach).

All the mentioned above are situated by the lake in Krzeczków – Tyczyno.
