HISTORY
The Forest District Świebodzin was established in 1945, as the result of the nationalization of so far private forests, and at the beginning it covered the area of 7 100 ha.
In 1976, after reorganisation of the State Forests, the former Forest Districts Łagów, Ołobok, Szczaniec and Sub – District Dąbrówka of the Forest District Trzciel were joined to the Forest District Świebodzin. During successive reorganisations in 1985 and in 1997, the area covering 13 100 ha was incorporated into newly created Forest Districts such as Babimost and Bytnica.
