The area of the Forest District is diversified naturally. There is very rich local animal and plant world.

Państwowe Gospodarstwo Leśne Lasy Państwowe zarządza gruntami leśnymi (zalesionymi i niezalesionymi ) w imieniu Skarbu Państwa na obszarze ponad 71 344 km².Grunty leśne zalesione (czyli głównie drzewostany) stanowią 69 796 km² natomiast obszar przyszłych upraw (grunty leśne niezalesione) zajmuje powierzchnię 1 548 km². Zasięg terytorialny Polski wynosi 322 575 km². Lasy Państwowe gospodarują więc drzewostanami pokrywającymi blisko 22 % całego kraju.Państwowe Gospodarstwo Leśne Lasy Państwowe zarządza gruntami leśnymi na terenie obejmującym cały obszar Polski.

Polish forests

Poland is in the European lead, while concerning the area of all forests. They cover about 29,2 % of the country territory, and grow within the area of 9,1 million hectares. The overwhelming majority of the forests is state owned, of which almost 7,6 million hectares are managed by the State Forests National Forest Holding..

The State Forests National Forest Holding is the largest organisation in the European Union managing forests, which belong to the State Treasury and celebrating its 90 anniversary this year.

Within the areas adjoining the water reservoirs, there are located eleven holiday resorts.

 

In Łagów, there is the Vacation Centre "Leśnik". The object is located in the very centre of the village, at the edge of the Łagowskie Lake, in beautiful surroundings of the Łagów Landscape Park. There are available 110 sleeping places of the high hotel standard: rooms for 2 – 3 - 4  people, apartments, conference and training room,  consumption and banquet room, playground for children, sports fields, beach, rental establishment with water sports equipment, parking lot and garages. Within the area of the Vacation Centre one can have a barbeque; the local speciality is roasted wild boar.

 
 

During the summer time, there also come a lot of youths (scouts), who use, in the area o the Forest District, specially prepared three Scouts camps located by Niesłysz Lake in Niesulice and in Krzeczków – Tyczyno.

For people, who don't like such package tours or holidays, the Forest District Świebodzin makes four forest camp sites available to the tourist annually, namely:

- "Słoneczne",
- "Pod Bukami",
- "Pom",
- "Plaża Borów" (Beach).

All the mentioned above are situated by the lake in Krzeczków – Tyczyno.
